Listening Steps To Gather Data (New Web App)

Overview

The Listening Step waits for the customer's response before proceeding to the next step and also store the response in either Data Fields or Customer ID Fields

Data or Customer ID field

Data

If the response is stored in a Data Field, it can be reused later in the conversation—for example, to display information

or perform comparisons.




Customer ID

If the response is stored as a Customer ID,



the customer's reply will override any existing UID associated with that customer or conversation (if there's any). The collected value will also appear at the top of the conversation screen and be reflected in reports and webhook payloads wherever the Customer UID or Customer Ref is displayed.
